When you walk into Mandala
You can feel the relaxed, non-judgmental sentiment all around you. If itβs your first time walking through our doors, or if youβve come to call the studio a second home, you will benefit from focused personal attention and a welcoming community. The most common comment we get is, βyouβre the first studio to really look at my alignment, to give me such specific personal guidanceβ.
Mandala was founded in 2001 by Jolie Parcher. Originally named Mandala Yoga and Dance Center, we aimed to bring dance and movement as well as varieties of yoga styles to our beautiful east end community. Once Jolie received certification as an Ayurvedic Practitioner in 2006, Mandala expanded to include MAHA β Mandala Ayurveda & Healing Arts, offering ayurvedic hands on oil treatments, diet and lifestyle consultations, cleanses, meditation, energy work and aromatherapy. Over the years we have continued to expand our schedule to include herbal studies, reiki. kids classes, restorative yoga and sound healing, Advancing Your Yoga intensives, and more.
Our History & Philosophy
During the pandemic Mandala Gives was created, a nonprofit extension of Mandala under the Umbrella of The Clamshell Foundations 501c3 status. We offered free and or discounted classes to overwhelmed essential workers and organizations in our community - like The Retreat womenβs center, the Springs Food Pantry, Amber Waves Farm, local EMS workers, local school teachers, as well as to offer scholarships to train more students to become yoga teachers.
This is a place of respect and listening, where you are guided to refine and grow your practices and reminded to be wise and kind to yourself. We have a wide range of both beginner and advanced classes. You will be cared for and challenged! Whether you are just starting out in the world of Yoga or if you have studied with masters, there is a class that will fit your comfort level at Mandala. So come step into our spacious light-filled studio, feel the ocean breezes as you practice and enjoy the welcoming community at your side.
As of January 2024, we are joyfully at home in the beautiful, spacious Scoville Hall!
Weβre a few blocks east of our original studio in Amagansett Square and across the street from Amber Waves Farm!
We continue to follow in the traditions of Krishnamacharya and classic yoga; committed to individual practice and study, to guiding students in detailed alignment for strength and mobility as well as the listening practices that train our mind and whole being to become more aware and dynamically alive. We look forward to welcoming you into our studio.
Namaste.
